// SWITCHES//
Mechanical keyboard switches come in all sorts of varieties but the first piece of the puzzle is understanding what you like best for feel. See the below diagram for a brief comparison between the three broad categories of key switch.

Linear switches can be described as smooth, silent, consistent with minimal feedback until you’ve bottomed out the switch. This smooth quiet feel is great for typing quietly and quickly.

Tactile switches have a tactile bump that makes the switch a little more satisfying and precise to interact with. This tactile bump is great for gaming.

Clicky switches are the same as tactile but they have a small metal leaf built in that makes a high pitched click noise when pushing it down. They are certainly the loudest switches around but they are also quite satisfying to type on if you don’t mind keeping your roommates up all night.
